Nawab Muhammad Wazir 'Ali Khan
1809 - 1821 Nawab Muhammad Wazir 'Ali Khan, Nawab of Malerkotla, eldest son of
Nawab Bhikan Khan, Nawab of Malerkotla, by his wife, Nawab Nadira Begum Sahiba, educ. privately. Heir Apparent at the death of his father, but usurped by
his uncles, 1762. Succeeded on the death of his uncle, 14th August 1809.
Contested the succession with his cousin, Khan Muhammad Rahmat 'Ali Khan, July 1810.
Appealed to the British authorities and received recognised as the rightful and
hereditary ruler of the state. Installed on the musnaid at Fort Kotla, 29th
September 1810. He served in person, during the Anglo-Nepalese War against, in the
Gurkha campaign around the Simla Hills 1815-1816. He d. at Malerkotla, 4th September 1821 (bur.
there at the Shahi Muqbara), having had issue, one
son:
