H.H. Nawab Mahbub 'Ali Khan Bahadur [Sube Khan]
1846 - 1857 H.H. Nawab Mahbub 'Ali Khan Bahadur [Sube Khan], Nawab of Malerkotla,
only son of H.H.
Nawab Amir 'Ali Khan Bahadur, Nawab of Malerkotla, educ.
privately. Succeeded on the death of
his father, 8th April 1846. Ascended
the musnaid 9th April 1846. Served in the First Anglo-Sikh War
and provided a contingent of 700 foot for the Sutlej campaign in 1845-1846. Granted
a personal salute of 11-guns, together with the style of His Highness, 26th
January 1847. Assisted the government in the Mutiny campaigns at Ludhiana, and other
places in the Punjab, 1857. Granted Fatehpur, Chhanna and Maherna Khurd, in jagir
for loyal service. m. (first) H.H. Nawab Maher Begum Sahiba (d. at Malerkotla, 3rd October 1872, bur. Shahi Muqbara). m. (second)
at Malerkotla, 22nd December 1848, a lady from a Rajput family. He d.
at Malerkotla, 25th November 1857 (bur. there at the Shahi
Muqbara), having had issue, an only surviving son:
